South Watt Avenue (Florin to State Route 16)

Project Description

This South Watt Avenue (Florin to SR 16) improvement project will provide a number of roadway system benefits including:

• Improved roadway safety.
• Increased traffic capacity to ease congestion and delays.
• Improved bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
• Meet Americans with Disability Act requirements.
• Beautification of the project area.

Planned roadway improvements include:

• Widening South Watt Avenue from 2 to 4 lanes between Florin Road and State Route 16.
• Construction of a 12-foot wide, raised landscaped median along South Watt Avenue.
• Roadway improvements for ADA compliance, transit access and bicycle and pedestrian facilities.

Right-of-Way Acquisition, 2007 to 2009
Construction, 2009 to 2011

Funding

Estimated total project costs are $10.1 million and will be provided by Developer Fees: Roadway District 4 (41%), Financing Districts (3%) and the Florin Vineyard Community P.F.P. (36%).
