North Kiefer Boulevard - Closure at Kiefer Project Description The project will close off access from North Kiefer Blvd to Kiefer Blvd by constructing a cul-de-sac on North Kiefer Blvd. The cul-de-sac area will consist of new curb, gutter, sidewalk, and landscaping. The remaining “T” intersection of Kiefer Boulevard and Tallyho Drive that is created will then be signalized. Other improvements include the installation of street lighting, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and asphalt paving that will connect the existing sidewalk improvements on the north side of the roadway from Arderly Court, east to the intersection at Kiefer Blvd and Tallyho Drive (east). Existing pedestrian ramps at the new signalized intersection will be upgraded to comply with current ADA standards. Slurry seal and new striping will be included throughout the length of the project. In the area of the new curb, gutter, and sidewalk along the north side of Kiefer Blvd, driveway access will be provided to the existing residential properties, along with drainage structures. The existing driveways will require the construction of new driveway conforms to allow for smooth access to the properties. Tentative Schedule Preliminary Engineering, 2005 to 2007 Funding Estimated construction costs are $1.065 million, and will be covered by the Sacramento County Road Fund (83%) and Fair Share/In Lieu funds (17%) Contact Information Godo Cornejo, P.E. |
