MacReady Avenue Reconstruction - Old Placerville to Bleckley SACDOT has played a strategic role in redevelopment of Mather Air Force Base. Department staff was lead in implementation of federal grant projects that were used to demolish buildings, improve infrastructure and landscaping. It was essential for the Sacramento area economy to have a successful transition from a military base to civilian uses. In 1997, the Board of Supervisors adopted the Mather Field Specific Plan to guide and encourage development of the former Mather Field Air Base. The former base is now becoming a thriving work center. Project Description Continued efforts to redevelop Mather include the MacReady Avenue Reconstruction Project which includes the following work:

Tentative Schedule Preliminary Engineering, 2005 to 2007 Funding Estimated total project costs are $2.2 million. The project is funded by a Federal Aviation Administration grant with the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency funding the non-reimbursable portions of the work.
