Bradshaw Road - Calvine to Florin

Project Description

This Bradshaw Road (Calvine to Florin) improvement project will provide a number of roadway system benefits including:

• Improved roadway safety.
• Increased traffic capacity to ease congestion and delays.
• Improved bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
• Meet Americans with Disability Act requirements.
• Beautification of the project area.

Planned roadway improvements include:

• Widening Bradshaw Road from 2 to 4 lanes between Calvine Road and Florin Road in the Vineyard area.
• Construction of a 12-foot wide, raised landscaped median along Bradshaw Road.
• Construction of paved shoulders to accommodate bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
• Replacement of bridges at Laguna Creek and Gerber Creek.
• Modify traffic signal at Vintage Park Drive.

The project also includes the installation of a 48-inch water main along Bradshaw Road between Calvine Road and Florin Road. It is a key component of the SCWA master plan for the Zone 40 water supply system, as it will connect the future Vineyard Surface Water Treatment Plant to existing water transmission and distribution systems within Zone 40's central and south service areas.

Funding

The total project construction cost is $16.43 million which includes $6.5 million for a Sacramento County Water Agency pipeline. The remaining $9.93 million for the Department of Transportation portion of the project is funded by Measure A Sales Tax funds.
