Sacramento County Bikeway Master Plan

Bikeway Master Plan: Sacramento County adopted the 2010 Bikeway Master Plan dated August of 1991, that set in motion the development of a bikeway system for the recreational and transportation needs of the community.   

The plan calls for bike lane improvements on approximately 400 miles of County roadways by 2010.

Plan implementation adds Class II bikeways to existing roadways and includes roadway widening to provide paved shoulder areas and the installation of bike lane signing, striping and marking. All improvements will be constructed in compliance with current Caltrans bikeway design standards.
